Beginning Years of Wimbledon Championship

Wimbledon Championship is established in 1868 All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club initially England Croquet Club is came into existence. It is the first ground for Wimbledon Championship. Lawn tennis is established on 1876 originally called Sphairistike was added to the activities of the club.  
Club Name was changed in 1877 to The All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club and signaled its change of name by instituting the first Lawn Tennis Championship. All the rules changed and old rules replaced by Marylebone Cricket Club for the event. Some of these rules are still exist such as the height of the net and posts and the distance of the service line from the net. The men's Singles was included in Wimbledon Championship on the 9th July 1877. First men's Singles event was won by Spencer Gore, an old Harrovian rackets player, a field of 22.
